The story centers on Jani-a low-life and small-time drug pusher - who frequently assists Pok Awang, a ferry boat operator whose trade has become obsolete and whose passenger numbers have dwindled since the construction of the new bridge in Kuala Terengganu. Although elderly and ailing, Pok Awang pins his hopes on Jani to carry on the legacy of operating the boat. Unbeknownst to him, however, Jani desperately needs money to pay for his girlfriend's abortion, and he turns to selling drugs as a quick and easy way to obtain the cash.
